Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai Gets $242 Million Pay Package

Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai will receive a $240 million stock package on top of a $2 million annual salary in 2020. Alphabet said in a Securities Exchange Commission filing that Pichai will also start receiving a substantial raise from January 1 to $2 million a year.

Pichai’s salary increment will take effect Jan 1, 2020. The $240 million pay package in stock grants will be awarded over three years if Pichai knocks performance targets. If Alphabet shares outperform the S&P 100 Index, Pichai could receive an additional $90 million in stock grants.

Pichai also received two other stock grants of $120 million and $30 million neither tied to performance but subject to his continued employment

Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, who stepped down as CEO of Alphabet, previously received yearly salaries of $1 each.
